Sex sells in our modern society and we've been so desensitized to pornography that it's made readily available at all times (even to kids of all ages). 57% of men ages 30-49 report having watched porn in the last month, and 42% say they have watched it in the last week. Another study showed that 29% of adults over the age of 18 watch porn 20-59 minutes per week. Our country is also the number one consumer of child rape videos in the world. TV shows and movies are full of sex scenes that are quite pornographic and we've become very accustomed to seeing sexual situations in just about any program we watch. Kanye West has a few words to say about the power of porn in our society, and he urges everyone to give it up for good.
In a brief video shared on Twitter, Ye was being interviewed outside and he talked about something that he recently told his ex-wife Kim Kardashian: "Any form of perversion is bad in God's eyes. Any form of pornography—it tears apart families. It's used to tear families apart." This is certainly an unpopular opinion especially amongst Hollywood.
"If it's a dad looking at Pornhub, he's still looking at somebody's daughter," Ye continues. "And a lot of women who end up in pornography are actually products of molestation and they're reliving that trauma every time they get on camera."
Ye says some people in Hollywood may try to say this kind of porn is okay, but another kind isn't. "It's all wrong in God's eyes," he explains. "And that's why we have to raise our standards as leaders. We're the youngest country and we're world leaders and we are influencers."
Most of our society will defend pornography to the very end, claiming that there's nothing wrong with it if both adults are consenting. But there are undeniable connections between sex trafficking and the porn industry, and there's no way you can separate the two. So many people, especially men, have become addicted to the poison of pornography and it ruins the way they interact with women, their self-esteem, and their ability to present themselves confidently to the world.
