The University of Nevada, Reno College of Business celebrated the commencement of 38 students from its nationally accredited Online Executive MBA program on Aug. 13, 2022. The program, which is included in Princeton Review’s top 50 online MBA programs for 2022 and was ranked 62nd on U.S. News and World Report’s 2022 list of best online MBA programs, has now graduated 10 cohorts.
“The 2022 Executive MBA graduating class presents an incredible cohort of students with impressive academic and professional credentials,” Kambiz Raffiee, Executive MBA director and associate dean of the College of Business, said. “They exemplify the depth and tradition of excellence the program has established. We are so proud of the EMBA graduating class and their accomplishments in the program.”
Students from seven states and one foreign country participated in the program, with graduates from California, Idaho, Kansas, New Jersey, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas and Qatar. Graduates have an average of 13 years of work experience, and their employers include AT&T, Barrick Gold, Cisco, Cox Communications, Dragonfly Energy, Kinross Gold Corporation, Microsoft, Nevada Gold Mines and Swift Urgent Care.
Nineteen of the graduates had a graduate or professional degree entering the Executive MBA program. Credentials include a medical doctorate, a doctorate in engineering and science, a juris doctorate, several master’s degrees, and a certified financial planner. There are three veterans among the graduating class.
“The EMBA program at the University of Nevada, Reno has been such a thrilling journey, helping me to rediscover myself by enhancing my leadership skills and unlocking my true potential,” Corina Elbayer, 2022 EMBA graduate and a senior security professional working with Qatar Airways group, said. Elbayer’s previous education includes a master’s degree in law from the University of Oradea, Romania.
“The program helped me to understand the importance of management and accounting and overall improved my management decisions and improved me as a person,” 2022 EMBA graduate Vineeth Joseph said. “I am thankful to all my family, friends and all my professors during the course to make this MBA experience truly enjoyable and fruitful one.”
“The EMBA program at UNR is among the best things that happened to me in the last few years; it’s second to none in quality, time management and flexibility: things that rarely are found in an EMBA program,” Ahmed Elbayer, 2022 Executive MBA graduate and plastic surgeon, said. Elbayer completed the program internationally to receive his third master’s degree.
