An HGTV Dream Home is, quite literally, the stuff dreams are made of – created with not only every amenity in mind but also filled with luxurious custom touches. The owner of the one-of-a-kind property at 4032 Coles Ferry Pike in Lebanon fell in love when he toured the 2006 HGTV Dream Home. Owner Mark Tomlinson happens to be a home builder by profession, so he drew up the floorplans from memory and constructed his own version of the home, adding personal touches along the way. (He also happens to be the father of the listing agent, who grew up there).
The main floor has an open plan that flows from room to room, featuring a kitchen with custom built-in cabinetry and granite countertops, a dining room and a living room with a stone fireplace (one of three on the property), vaulted ceilings using 1800s era beams, and panoramic views of some of the property’s acreage. The flooring, including several exquisite inlays in intricate geometric patterns, was made from trees cleared from the property itself. The primary suite, which features custom nightstands and a jacuzzi tub, is on the main level.

Blaike Tomlinson White, the agent and former resident of the home, has the property listed for $3.8 million and says that in addition to being the perfect home for a new family to make memories in, no detail was forgotten and the handiwork is exceptional.
“My dad is a true craftsman, like his father before him and my brother, who is following in his footsteps. He can build anything and has a good eye for design,” says Tomlinson White. “Everything in the house is made with an attention to detail – the floorboards were created from trees on the property, and the historic log cabin was dismantled from another family property and reassembled here.”
The 5,790-square-foot home includes five bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath. There are two additional half baths in the home. Among the unique features, one bedroom features a bed frame that suspends the mattress from the ceiling using chain link, and another features twin beds with a ladder leading to a loft play space.
On the lower level, there is ample space for recreation, including a music room, den, bookshelves, an exercise room and a craft room. The den also includes a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, sink, and a microwave.
The home is also designed to enjoy everything outdoor living has to offer. There is an upstairs patio deck offering sweeping views. The patio underneath the breezeway features another stone fireplace and seating area. Yet another area features a built-in gas fire pit surrounded by chairs, a space to barbecue, and an in-ground pool and hot tub. There are also two ponds on the property.
Situated on 20.35 acres, in addition to the main home, the property includes a barn built to be used as a wedding and event venue and a historic cabin that features a central living space flanked by guest suites, each with a full bath, on either side. The owners have used these features to host weddings, but the house also has potential as an income property. Offering a private and peaceful country getaway yet it’s not far from Nashville. Despite its rural surrounds, it’s just 30 minutes from the Nashville airport and 36 minutes to downtown–with this property, you really can have it all.
