Although Connect CRE’s Investment & Finance 2022 conference, scheduled for Oct. 6 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, IL, has been in the planning stages for months, the conversations on the current state of the capital markets will be up to the minute. Connect’s events team has brought together experts from the finance, ownership, development, legal and commercial real estate economics sectors, and they’ve brought a wealth of insights with them.
The afternoon conference kicks off with a keynote presentation on the economic outlook. Following a networking break, the first panel will present “The Developer/Owner’s Perspective: Investment Opportunities.”
Prominent and active developers, owners and investors will discuss true value-add opportunities, upgrading and repurposing existing buildings as an alternative capital source, the best bets among asset classes, opportune developments that offer stabilized cash flow, acquisitions, and valuations.
Next comes “Capital Markets: Investment Strategies in Today’s Market.” Industry experts will address the state of the capital markets, highlighting the current market trends, diversifying risk across property types, pricing amid rising rates and new opportunities in a turbulent market.
After another networking break, the conference continues with “Under Pressure: Financing in a Volatile Market.” You’ll learn how both investors and capital providers are coming up with unique but effective methods regarding short-term and long-term options, demand drivers, liquidity, and transparency during this economic and market volatility.
Concluding the afternoon’s presentations will be “The Green Wave of CRE Financing.” With a panel of lenders specializing in eco-conscious financing, you’ll hear about the advantages of green lending for borrowers as well as developers/investors, how to identify properties and projects that are eligible, the hurdles that must be cleared to qualify for green financing, lenders’ considerations and emerging trends.
The afternoon will conclude, as Connect’s in-person events have since the beginning, with a cocktail reception and networking opportunities. Among the speakers scheduled to appear are Jim Costello from MSCI Real Assets, Erik Foster from Avison Young, Thomas Lorenzini from Tremont Realty Capital, Bob Six of Zeller and Ed Wlodarczyck from Pace Loan Group.
