A group opposed to progressive gender ideology today launched a six-figure ad campaign calling on Latino voters to “stop the insanity” of “the radical left’s assault on kids.”
Citizens for Sanity on Wednesday released its “Woke War on Children” ad as part of its effort to encourage Latinos to vote against liberal transgender policies. The ad, a copy of which was shared with the Washington Free Beacon, shows high-profile Democrats and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson claiming men can become pregnant and refusing to define the word “woman.” The ad also notes progressive medical professionals believe babies can be transgender.
Ian Prior, a strategic consultant at Citizens for Sanity, says this radical gender ideology has Latino voters fleeing the Democratic Party.
“The overwhelming majority of people in this country are horrified by the woke lunacy spreading across America,” said Prior, adding that Latino parents “want the American Dream for their children, not for woke loons to give them puberty blockers and threaten to arrest parents that don’t comply.”
President Joe Biden’s approval rating among Hispanics has fallen 17 points since his election in 2020. Latinos said they would back Republicans by a 9-point margin in the 2022 midterms, according to a March Wall Street Journal poll.
The ad comes weeks after Citizens for Sanity launched a nationwide billboard campaign lampooning progressive policies. The billboards feature mock slogans including “Protect Pregnant Men from Climate Discrimination,” “Too much freedom is a bad thing. Get your IRS audit today,” and “Open the jails. Open the borders. Close the schools. Vote progressive this November.”
