SACRAMENTO, August 4, 2022 –  – California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D. and Business Programs Division Chief (BPD) Betsy Bogart were joined by the California Chamber of Commerce, the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, the Franchise Tax Board, and members of the business community for the unveiling of the new easy-to-use bizfile Online business portal.
The bizfile Online portal provides easy online business and trademark filing, a convenient business search function, and a helpful step-by-step guide for new businesses.
“Last year, 425,684 new corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships, were filed with the Secretary of State’s office, comprising a 23.8 percent increase over 2020. “With so much new business activity in the state, I am proud that the bizfile Online portal makes it easier, faster and more secure for businesses to file documents and search businesses entities.”
“bizfile Online is the final module in our California Business Connect project, the Secretary of State’s digital initiative to automate the Business Programs Division,” said Business Programs Division Chief Betsy Bogart. “Our aim is to continue to make it easier to do business in California.”
“California’s Business Connect Project has added a tremendous amount of new online filing options and has brought back expedited service options,” said Alan Stachura, the Senior Manager of Government Relations for the CT Corporation. “These new offerings, coupled with recent fee reductions, have made starting a business in California much easier, faster, and cheaper than before. The new system also helps existing California businesses manage their compliance needs effortlessly through the online platform.”
