DC Blox, a provider of secure, reliable data centers in the Southeast, recently began the expansion of their Birmingham data center. Located in downtown Birmingham near the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Innovation Depot, the data center is one of five operational DC Blox facilities in the Southeast. The expansion of DC Blox’s Birmingham data center includes an additional data hall, accommodating 36 High Performance Compute (HPC)-capable cabinets and 240 standard cabinets.
“DC BLOX’s new ‘flex space’ design enables the efficient allocation of floor space and power between HPC and standard cabinets to accommodate variations in local demand. This new data hall design will help not only Birmingham but can also be added to any of our data centers across our markets to respond to local customers’ needs.”
