Colin Andrew Smith, Jr., (CA), 61, of Henderson, NV, passed away peacefully in Hagerstown, MD on Saturday, September 17, 2022. CA was born on August 15, 1961 on Plattsburgh AFB, NY, to Colonel Colin A. Smith, Sr., USAF (Ret.) and the late Nancy J. (Gallaway) Smith.

A graduate of Kubasaki High School, Okinawa, Japan, CA attended Golden West College in Huntington Beach before graduating in 1988 from California State University, Long Beach, with dual degrees in Business and Finance. CA was the owner of CAS Construction, and a licensed general contractor with multiple specialized certifications. CA was for many years the Western Facilities Manager for Camden Properties, before becoming Facilities Director for DST, LLC.

On November 23, 1991, CA married the love of his life, Donna L. Salazar-Smith. He is survived by Donna and their three children: Kristoffer, Colin III, and Cassidy; his father Colin Sr.; his three siblings: Sheri, Shaun and Dana, and their families.

CA loved boating, fishing, jet-skiing, RV camping, ATVs, downhill skiing, and a nice cold beer. He was a superb mechanic and builder, and was passionate regarding the finer aspects of BBQ, regularly trying out tempting new recipes that never failed to make a huge impact on the waistlines of family and friends. Possessed of a dry sense of humor, a witty tongue, an unfailingly contagious laugh, an often surprising perspicacity, and an enormous love of life, CA gathered friends his entire life. His unflaggingly positive outlook on life was uplifting and inspiring.

Throughout his life, CA was always happiest when spending time with his family. His untimely passing leaves an unbridgeable abyss in the hearts of all who were privileged to know and love him.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD
