Gary Riley, the principal owner of Decatur Plastic Products Inc. and Ningbo Global LLC, is the new CEO of Tecumseh, Mich.-based Uniloy Inc., a manufacturer of blow molding equipment, parts and tooling.
Riley succeeds Brian Marston, who had been Uniloy president and CEO since July 2019 and saw the company through its sale to private equity firms Osgood Capital and Cyprium Investment Partners for almost $51.9 million.
The investment firms bought Uniloy from Milacron Holdings Corp., which had owned it for 21 years.
Marston, who had previously been president of Milacron’s blow molding and extrusion division, is now a partner at Gamut Capital Management and a member of the board of directors of machinery maker Davis-Standard LLC.
Riley took over in June. He has had leadership roles in the plastics molding industry for more than 25 years. He has served as the CEO of a number of private equity-owned international businesses operating in the U.S., Europe, China, Malaysia, Thailand and South Korea. Those companies include EnTrans International LLC, Enovation Controls LLC, ASIMCO Technologies Holdings Ltd., Energy Conversion Systems LLC, Magnequench Inc., Xolox NA and Malaysia, and Zollner Pistons.
Riley announced his new position at Uniloy in a LinkedIn post that also mentioned that the company wants to add a senior manufacturing and process engineer at the Tecumseh facility.
Riley has been chairman of the board and an owner of Decatur Plastic and Ningbo Global Sourcing since 2016, when he and his relatives formed a family office to own and operate lower-middle-market manufacturing companies in the industrial and automotive supply market segments.
Decatur Plastic, which has four factories in Indiana and Alabama, serves the automotive interior market with custom injection molded parts. Ningbo Global and Ningbo Decatur Plastic Moulding Technology Ltd. are both Chinese companies serving the industrial and automotive markets with precision products, tooling, automation and assemblies.
DPP and NGS serve many of the same customers.
Riley also serves as vice chairman of Serva SJS Ltd., a Sino-American joint venture between Sinopec Oilfield Equipment and Entrans International.
In addition, Riley is on the advisory board of Cyprium Partners and a member of the board of directors of Weaber Lumber in Lebanon, Pa.
