The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the longest-running theatrical release in film history!
Based on a 1973 stage musical, the film version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released in 1975.  It was an immediate and abysmal failure. Maybe because it takes place in the house of Dr. Frank N. Furter (spoiler alert ahead!)
So it may not have had blockbuster movie numbers but my goodness does it ever have a LEGION of faithful fans.  It became a midnight movie and played on with audience members continuing to come back…so much so, the movie hasn't been out of release for 47 years straight.
Fans are encouraged to dress up and participate…any type of fishnet is suggested
Join Dakota Stage on East Main Avenue Bismarck for a viewing of this classic on Saturday, October 29th at 7:00 pm and 10 pm. Dakota Stage has been showing the movie around Halloween for quite a few years now.  They do have an unusual set of rules to follow.
Remember, props are tossed UP in the air.

For those who want to bring their own props to use during the show, the following will NOT be allowed in the theater:
Water/water guns
Wet food products
Candles/lighters
Large quantities of confetti, bubbles, or rice

Approved props are a party hat, rubber gloves, noisemaker, roll of toilet paper, deck of cards, flashlight or battery operated tea light (NO candles or lighters), small package of confetti or small bubbles, ¼ cup rice or small bubbles, bell (or shake your car keys), 2 pages of newspaper, and DRY toast (no butter, please.)
You read that right- DRY toast.
Now, I've been to two showings of the film, so I'm aware of when to throw the toast.  I also know why they prohibit water guns. If you want to be properly prepared before you go to the show click on fan sites here and also here.
The movie stars the incredible Tim Curry as Frank, Barry Bostwick as Brad, Susan Sarandon as Dammit Janet, and Meatloaf as Eddie the ex-delivery boy. That's my last spoiler.
Fire up your toaster and bust out your best bustier and we'll see you October 29th at Dakota Stage!
