SRINAGAR: Aone-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program was jointly Organized by Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development facilitation office Srinagarin collaboration with Innovation and Incubation Centre Islamia College Srinagar on 22-09-2022. The Awareness Program was held specially for the students of the Islamia college to sensitize them about the potential present in the valley for boosting Entrepreneurship related activities.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Yasin Choudhary MD KPDCL. The chief guest in his inaugural address pointed out to the students that Entrepreneurship is way ahead for them in today’s changing job and economic scenario and urged them to look at Entrepreneurship as an option. The principal of the College Prof. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir informed the audience that Islamia college is the first college in the UT of J&K to implement NEP 2020. He further apprised the gathering that NEP has Innovation and Entrepreneurship integrated in it and our students should strive to become job creators and not job seekers. The key note address was given by Er. SaheelAlaqband Assistant Director SMSE DFO J&K in which he talked about Role of the ministry of MSME In Boosting Entrepreneurship. Dr. Saad Parvaiz Head IIED Centre NIT Srinagar talked about mind to market by informing the students how Innovations lead to entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneur Basit Khan MD BST OrganicsShared his Vision as an Entrepreneur. Umar Bucch Industrial Promotion OfficerDIC Srinagar apprised the students of the college about the Schemes available with DIC for aspiring entrepreneurs. An interactive question Answer session was held at the end of the day in which students of the College raised some pertinent questions and sought certain clarification from the experts.
Earlier Dr. Nasreen Chisti, Dean Commerce and Management Islamia College formally welcomed the guests. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Jhat Convenor Innovation and Incubation Centre, Islamia College anchored the whole proceedings of the day and presented the vote of thanks
