Saturday night, Officers responded to the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a theft. Officers spoke to an employee, Jennifer M. Archambault. Archambault stated a male subject came into the store and stole multiple packages of alcohol. The suspect has been identified, but no contact has been made at this time.
Sunday evening, Officers took a report at the Police Station in reference to harassment. The unnamed complainants stated a neighbor has been constantly harassing them by yelling at cursing at them while standing outside. The suspect has been identified, and state charges of Harassment are being requested.
Sedalia Police observed a silver sedan travelling eastbound on West Broadway Boulevard with no head lights on early Sunday morning. The vehicle was also failing to maintain its lane. Officers activated their emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop at South Lamine Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard. The vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle struck two parked vehicles, and continued to flee. The suspect eventually stopped near West 16th Street and South Vermont Avenue. The suspect was ordered out of the vehicle and arrested. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Mario Serrano, 18, of Sedalia, was transported to the SPD, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was above 0.08. Serrano was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated, felony Resisting Arrest, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
Late Saturday night, a car was observed disobeying the southbound stop sign from South Osage Avenue onto westbound West Broadway Boulevard. The car turned from the inside lane, skipping the designated turn lane, onto South Kentucky. It quickly turned west onto West 9th before being stopped in the area of West 9th Street and South Moniteau Avenue. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated by alcohol and/or drugs. He was found to be in possession of cocaine. Kendall David Weymuth, 24, of Sedalia, was taken to the Sedalia Police Department, a hospital, and then the Pettis County Jail. Weymuth was placed on a 24 hour hold on state charges of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated.
Officers observed a vehicle travelling westbound on West Broadway Boulevard early Sunday morning that was drifting in and out of its lane of travel. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Dalton Bailey Turner, 20, of Sedalia, was transported to the SPD, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was above 0.08. Turner was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for Driving While Intoxicated and released to a sober driver.
Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a report of a female in distress. It was determined on the scene to be a domestic incident. A primary physical aggressor was not determined. A 12 hour log was completed.
Saturday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop at West Broadway Boulevard on a vehicle they had observed failing to maintain a lane of travel. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Roel Gonzalez, 21, of Sedalia, was transported to the SPD, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was above 0.08. Gonzalez was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket for Driving While Intoxicated and released to a sober driver.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of South State Fair Boulevard in reference to a trespassing call early Monday morning. An Officer made contact with the caller, who stated a stranger entered his home while he was asleep. The caller yelled at the suspect until they ran away from the residence. The suspect was located a short time later in the area. Lacey R. Battles, 38, Homeless, was arrested for Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Battles was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
Officers were dispatched to the Comfort Inn, 3600 West Broadway Boulevard Sunday evening to assist the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. The call was a subject check which involved an incident that originated in Pettis County. There was no further information in the report.
Sunday morning, Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of South Osage Avenue and West 10th Street. A probable cause search of the vehicle located a digital scale containing a white powdery residue and a partially consumed Xanax pill. Robert L. Standley, 35, and Chelsey A. Green, 25, both of Marshall, were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both Standley and Green were transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Police Station Lobby Saturday evening for a report of found property. Upon arrival, Officers met with the caller, Callie Casdorph, who is a manager at Woods Supermarket, 1400 South Limit Avenue. Casdorph turned in several bank cards, IDs, and wallets that had been turned into the store over the past several months. There were several items that were turned back to their owners, and everything else was placed into found property.
Officers were dispatched to the Phillip's 66, 216 West Broadway Boulevard, Sunday morning for a report of forgery. Upon arrival, Officers met with the caller, who stated that a known subject attempted to pass a fake $100 bill. The bill was collected and placed into evidence.
Sedalia Police took a report in the Police Station lobby, 300 West 3rd Street, on Sunday afternoon. Dylan B. Clark reported a theft that occurred in the 500 block of East 11th Street. Clark stated that sometime during the night, his electric Hart push mower was stolen. No suspects have been identified at this time.
Last Thursday evening, Officers responded to the 2400 block of West 1st Street Terrace in reference to report of a teenager out of control. Officers were able to calm the teen. After leaving, the Officers were called back. The teen had supposedly thrown items in the house and then went to the neighbors, threatening damage to their house. Officers spoke with the mother, Katrina S. Miesner, who claimed the teen had assaulted her seven year old brother and her mother. No marks or injuries were seen. Once again, the juvenile was calmed down and left at the house. Due to the accusations, a juvenile report was completed. Officers were called back to the residence on Saturday afternoon for a report of a verbal disturbance. Officers spoke with Miesner, who stated she was arguing with her juvenile daughter and the daughter would not get out of the car. The juvenile went back into the home.
Late Saturday night, Officers observed an eastbound SUV fail to maintain its lane several times between South Ingram Avenue and South Brown Avenue east of Broadway Boulevard. Officers initiated a traffic stop on it in the area of South Brown Avenue. Briahnna Marie Cartwright, 29, of Sedalia, was a suspended driver. Cartwright was arrested on a municipal charge of Driving While Suspended. Cartwright was released on scene with a citation.
On the night of September 23rd, Officers were dispatched to the Break Time store, 318 West Broadway Boulevard, for a reported theft incident. The suspect has not been identified at this time.
Friday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of South Lamine Avenue for a reported domestic violence incident. A primary physical aggressor was not determined, and a 12 hour domestic violence report was conducted. One of the suspects on scene was found to have two Sedalia Municipal Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Animal At Large. Dylan James Nelson, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. There, Nelson was booked in with a $200 cash only bond.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 22nd Street and South Wagner Avenue. The vehicle had expired registration. After an on scene investigation, the driver was found to have a Failure to Appear warrant from Pettis County on original charges of Speeding. In addition, the driver was issued municipal citations for Driving While Suspended, No Proof of Insurance, and Expired Registration. Joshua Nathanael Boyd, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested on his FTA warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail, to be booked in pending a cash only bond of $201.00.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West 20th Street and South Kentucky Avenue Saturday evening. The driver was identified and found to have two confirmed Sedalia Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Nuisance Violation and Driving While Suspended. Jesus Ubaldo Quetzecua, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on his warrants, pending a $200 cash only bond.
Sedalia Police stopped a car in the area of East 14th Street and South Engineer Avenue late Saturday night. The vehicle had failed to use a turn signal, and was not maintaining the right half of the roadway. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated by drugs. Chasidy F. Perez, 34, of Des Moines Iowa, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Perez was taken to a hospital, and then the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.
Saturday morning, Officers responded to the 2000 block of West 14th Street in reference to property damage. Herald Lynde reported that the ignition to his truck, owned by Guier Family Farms, had been drilled out. No suspects have been identified at this time.
On the afternoon of September 20th, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West 6th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. A 12 hour log was done to document the incident. A subject identified at the residence showed to have an active Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of No Insurance from the City of Sedalia. Victoria A. Ball, 27, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was given a bond of $147 cash only.
Last Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East 11th Street for a report of fraud. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Serena M. Cronk, who stated someone had attempted to make a $300 purchase on Apple.com using their debit card number.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Police Station lobby to make contact with a subject about a possible crime that occurred in a different jurisdiction. A report will be made for documentation.
Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East 13th Street for a child endangerment report. Upon arrival, Officers met with the caller, who stated a young child was found outside, walking around without clothing on. The child's mother was eventually located, and a call was made to the Child Abuse Hotline.
Last Monday afternoon, Officers met with Travis Hansell in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a hit and run accident. Hansell stated that earlier in the afternoon, they were southbound on South Limit Avenue near West 16th Street, when they were struck by a semi-truck with a flatbed trailer. The semi continued on Limit Avenue without stopping. At the time of the report, the semi truck has not been identified.
Early Saturday morning, Sedalia Police responded to the 1300 block of South Harrison Avenue for a report of a home invasion. Upon arriving, contact was made with the suspect leaving the scene. He was detained at that time. Through the investigation, it was revealed that a burglary and property damage had occurred. Daniel Neal Scotten, 22, of Green Ridge, was arrested for Burglary in the 1st Degree and Property Damage in the 1st Degree. Scotten was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges.
On the evening of September 23rd, Officers conducted a subject check at the Break Time store, 318 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers arrested Floyd Eugene Flippin Jr., 56, Homeless, on an active Pettis County warrant for Failure to Appear on charges of Driving While Suspended and Failure to Properly Display License Plates. Flippin was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in pending a $250 cash only bond.
Sedalia Police responded to Ollison Used Cars, 2809 East 12th Street, in reference to a theft report Friday morning. The reporting party stated a vehicle was stolen from the lot sometime in the overnight. No suspects have been identified at this time.
