Teachers have warned that a self-styled wealth guru accused of spreading misogyny is becoming a role model for teenage boys as he attracts billions of views on social media.
Videos of Andrew Tate, 35, who has described women as men’s property, have flooded TikTok and amassed 13 billion views, prompting schools to say action must be taken to educate students about the harmful nature of his content.
In one video Tate, an entrepreneur and former kickboxing world champion, describes how he would punish a woman who accused him of being unfaithful: “Bang out the machete, boom in her face and grip her by the neck. Shut up bitch.”
One tweet from a UK teacher that said schools should be wary of Tate’s influence went viral
