He’s back! Well, in a sense. Once upon a time, Grant Cardone lived primarily in Los Angeles, but the social media sensation and bestselling author relocated to Florida back in 2012 for tax and other business reasons. Now he’s purchased a remarkably lavish Malibu vacation home, where the Miami-based entrepreneur and his longtime wife Elena Lyons plan to spend less than six months a year.
Located at the far eastern end of Malibu’s Carbon Beach, the legendarily posh strip of sand that is also home to Larry Ellison, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Michael Milken, Cardone’s hulking new house has roughly 9,500 square feet spread across two floors. The Cape Cod-inspired mansion boasts panoramic ocean views, naturally, and there are polished hardwood floors, a movie theater with captain’s chairs upholstered in a royal blue leather, and a primary bathroom slathered in marble.

The property spans roughly half an acre of land, large by Carbon Beach standards. It also includes two things rarely found with oceanfront Malibu homes: a bonafide lap-lane swimming pool hovering directly over the crashing waves, and a grassy lawn. As for the house itself, the six-bedroom structure was built in 2005 and sold to Cardone by Ukrainian oligarch Vadim Shulman, who had paid “just” $25 million for the place back in 2014.
Cardone, 63, began his career as a car salesman; over the decades, the hard-charging Louisiana native and practicing Scientologist has become an investor with a portfolio of apartments and other real estate worth upwards of $2 billion, per the man himself. He’s also a well-known motivational speaker and influencer with his own lines of books, audiotapes and training classes.
Astute real estate watchers may recall that Cardone’s primary residence was once a sumptuous mansion set high above L.A.’s Sunset Strip. Cardone sold that $17 million spot — once owned by Lionel Richie — way back in August 2012 to his next-door neighbor, Walmart heiress Sybil Robson Orr. His primary residence remains a $28 million estate in Miami, previously owned by Tommy Hilfiger.
